Arguably the greatest pure hitter to ever take to the baseball diamond, Ty Cobb single-signed baseballs have always been highly prized by autograph collectors. Even though Cobb lived to the age of 74 (13 years longer than Babe Ruth), his reputation for being unfriendly and unapproachable no doubt deterred potential autograph seekers. That being said, Cobb single signed baseballs are by far rarer than the Ruth variety, making them a tough find for baseball collectors.
Presented here is a rare opportunity to acquire one of these signed spheres from the Georgia Peach himself! This vintage Reach Official American League E.S. Barnard baseball was signed by Ty Cobb on a side panel with the date "1928". The Official baseball has signs of use possibly dating to a game featuring Cobb. The signature and inscription have faded some, but the stamping on the vintage ball remains surprisingly bold. Despite any flaws, with Cobb's lifetime being further and further in the past and these single signed balls being such a rarity, you don't want to miss the opportunity to own this rare vintage example! This baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE02587).
