Uruguay and Nacional goalkeeper Andres Mazzali was presented with this quadruple world championship pin by the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF) after La Celeste won the 1950 World Cup title. Mazzali was a key member of the 1924 and 1928 Olympic gold medalist Uruguay squads, although his place at the 1930 World Cup was rescinded after El Buzo was spotted out on the town breaking curfew with a mysterious woman. This offered pin is gold in color, with two circular pieces connected by a metal bridge. It measures approximately .5 inches in diameter. Printed on the front of the pin is “AUF Campeones”, “24 28 30 50”, and “Olimpicos Mundiales”. Etched on the back of the pin is “A. Mazzali”. This pin is in good condition, and it originates from the estate of Andres Mazzali. This item comes with a LOA confirming it is part of the Rony Almeida Soccer Collection.
