Jackie Robinson broke the Major League color barrier on April 15, 1947 and went on to astound the league with his courageous play and demeanor. He was named the 1947 National League Rookie of the Year before the season ended, and on September 23, 1947 was honored with a special “Jackie Robinson Day” at Ebbets Field. Before the game against the New York Giants that day, Robinson was honored with a plethora of gifts, including a brand new Cadillac car. There were numerous celebrities in attendance as well, including Bojangles Robinson.

The game itself was a more standard affair, a 6-1 Dodger victory with over 26,000 fans in attendance. Robinson had a quiet game, going hitless in two at bats. He played first base in this game, as he only started playing every day at second base during his second season. This ticket is purple, and shows signs of use. A small chunk from the bottom left corner is missing and this ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (21312150) who have graded it AUTHENTIC.
