Absolutely beautiful panoramic photograph of the November 12th, 1898 Princeton-Yale game. Actual game photographs from the early days of college football are exceedingly rare and this compact panorama is a superior example, and while it can not be confirmed, this may be the oldest one in existence. The game, which Princeton won 6-0, is shown in just as a play is about to be run. The officials along the sideline and the bundled up fans lean forward in anticipation of the action about to unfold. The photograph is so clear that you can almost feel the November chill in the air. The mounted print has a tear in its surface in the top right side, but it does not affect the action in the image. “Yale Game, Nov. 12th 1898.” is inscribed on the bottom border of the image. A truly unique moment of early college football frozen in time. Measures approximately 11.5 x 5 inches.
