Arthur Miller’s unique series “A Baseball Card That Never Was” revisits baseball’s golden age with this depiction of the Hall of Fame ace Sandy Koufax. This artwork is a mixed media on canvas. Specifically, the mixed media is acrylic enamel house paint, oil pastels and colored pencils and sealed with varnish. It portrays the Dodgers hurler as he might have appeared in the 1948 Leaf trading card series. Koufax is shown in his Los Angeles Dodgers home uniform from the chest up in front of a brilliant yellow background. This canvas artwork measures 25 x 30 inches, with Miller’s signature located on the upper right-hand corner. Located on the back of the canvas is “A Baseball Card That Never Was: Sandy Koufax (1948 Leaf)”, “2018”, and a second Miller signature. This artwork is a fantastic display piece of baseball’s greatest lefty.
