The C271 shows heavy use with a handle crack. Many ball and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel along with blue ink transfers and cleat imprints. There are marks from a weighted batting donut and Brett's number "5" is handwritten on both the knob and barrel end in black marker. There is pine tar on this bat - A LOT of pine tar. If anyone wonders what all the fuss was about regarding the infamous Brett Pine Tar incident back in '83, one just needs to produce this bat for the answer. The Hall of Famer has managed to find a small part of the barrel not covered in tar in order to add his signature in black marker. Letter of Authenticity 1B07446 from PSA/DNA who have graded this remarkable bat a perfect GU 10. The signature has also been authenticated by PSA/DNA and comes with their COA.
