In the history of baseball, there aren't any more dramatic moments than winning the World Series with a home run in the bottom of the 9th - yet that's exactly what Toronto's Joe Carter did in Game 6 of the 1993 Series. The coveted Balfour-made trophy is 12" high and is ringed by 28 gold colored pennants representing both leagues. A silver baseball sits in the center surmounted by a gold ring atop which is a gold-colored crown. In front of the silver ball are two press pins representing the Blue Jays and Phillies. The trophy's base is surrounded by a brass plaque which reads "WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS TORONTO BLUE JAYS 1993 JOE CARTER". It is not uncommon for an additional award to be made on behalf of the team or the player to be used as a display piece or gifted to a friend or family member. This award was requested by Joe Carter. When real World Series trophies do come on the market (and that's not very often) they are usually attributed to trainers or front office personnel - this one we offer here is from the man who WON the World Series! Outstanding condition. Please note Joe Carter personally received and kept his commissioner's size trophy, and the smaller ones were ordered to be given as gifts to family and business associates.
