After an 8-year career in Japan, Ichiro crossed the ocean to show what he could do in the American League. Quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting players in the game, in 2005 Ichiro made history when he became only the 5th player ever to get 200 or more hits in his first five seasons. He also reached the 1,000 career hits mark, at 31, the youngest player ever in the history of the game. As proof of his hard-hitting 2005 season, his cracked handle Mizuno ICHIRO51 model bat shows tremendous game use. Ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel and cleat imprints are present. The handle sports a light coat of pine tar. Ichiro’s number “51” is stamped in the knob end. PSA/DNA sticker numbers 1B05868 and U69432 are affixed to the barrel end. Ichiro has signed the barrel in matching silver ink between the Mizuno brand and his endorsement. Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.
