It's a basketball collector's dream to own a piece of memorabilia from one of the greatest games ever played. It's rare that items from Wilt Chamberlain's record-shattering 100-point game appear on the auction block, which makes this offering one where basketball fans need to stop and look. Presented here is a rare ticket stub from the fabled game. How rare? We have only offered this stub three times in Goldin Auctions' history!

Despite the enormous scarcity of relics from this Hershey, PA contest, every fan on earth knows the event. On March 2, 1962, the 7-foot-1 superstar center for the Philadelphia Warriors became the first (and, to this date, only) man in NBA history to require a third digit on his personal scoring sheet, dropping an even one hundred in a 169-147 victory over the visiting New York Knicks. Just over 4,000 fans witnessed this stunning display of offensive production, so the scarcity of surviving stubs is little surprise.

Basketball collectibles and memorabilia have seen a surge in recent years, so those with an eye to investment should be encouraged to participate in a market that is statistically as bullish as they come. If a ticket of equivalent rarity and historical importance existed within the baseball market today, a six-figure price tag wouldn't be surprising. And the golf market, which has likewise enjoyed a sizeable head-start over basketball, recently drove a comparably rare inaugural Masters ticket beyond the $30,000 mark.

This stub was a part of the festivities when Wilt put the single-game scoring record out of reach. Consigned by a man who amazingly only saw one NBA game in his life, the epic 100-point game. The ticket's lower corners are cut and the top corners show wear. The upper right corner has a stain and a bit more wear. Paper loss is found on the reverse as this was most likely removed from a scrapbook. Light creasing is visible on the top half. Assessed and marked as "Authentic" by PSA/DNA.
