Description

The eldest son of Founding Father and second President of the United States John Adams, John Quincy Adams was a lawyer, diplomat, and ambassador before he was elected the sixth President of the United States. Quincy Adams assumed office on March 4th, 1825, had ambitious designs to expand federal infrastructure, create a National University, and engage with Latin America, all stymied by a hostile Congress. This presented 15 ½ x 9 ½ -inch land grant was signed by Quincy Adams while he was President. The land grant was signed by Quincy Adams on the bottom right of the land grant on April 15th, 1825, in black ink and was for a William Willearson for a parcel of land in Illinois. The land grant contains elements of toning, a large stain on the left side, and several creases from being folded. The land grant signed by President John Quincy Adams comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (X01289) for the signature.
