Lot #692: 2017-18 Ozzie Albies Game Used, Photo Matched, & Signed/Inscribed Wilson A2k Professional Model Glove - Used for MLB Debut & 1st All-Star Game! (Henderson LOA, Elite Sports LOA & Beckett)

Description

Presented here is a game used, signed, and inscribed Wilson A2K professional model glove signed and used by Atlanta Braves' second baseman Ozzie Albies during his MLB debut in 2017 and in his first All-Star Game in 2018. Albies made is MLB debut for the Atlanta Braves on August 1st, 2017, against the Los Angeles Dodgers at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. Albies would record one walk and score one run during the Braves' 3-2 loss to the Dodgers. Albies would again use this glove during the 2018 All-Star Game, his first appearance in the midseason classic. Albies would go 0 for 1 during the American League's 8-6 victory over the National League at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. on July 17th, 2018.

The presented left-handed Wilson A2K glove was constructed of top-grade reddish-brown leather and features the “Wilson” logo embroidered to a tag on the wrist strap. The Wilson "W" logo is embroidered onto the back of the glove's pocket web. The Braves lower case "a" logo variant (used on batting helmets in the mid-1970s) is embroidered on an embossed and sewn-in circle in (formerly) red, white, and blue sewn into the back of the glove at the base of the thumb, not stained and mostly brown. "FOR THE PROFESSIONAL PLAYER" is embossed onto the palm on the outside of the little finger. The glove displays exceptional wear, to an extent not often seen on a professional player's glove. The inside pocket is burnished, stained, worn, and the leather's surface is a spider's web of cracks. Very heavy wear can be seen in the palm, the backhand opening, fingertips, and especially the inside surface of the web pocket. Albies signed and inscribed "2017 Game Used MLB Debut 2018 game-used All-Star Game" on the outside back of the second finger with a silver metallic paint pen. The signature and inscription are bold, and the game used, and signed glove comes with an LOA from noted game used expert William Henderson (210623J03) and an LOA from Elite Sports Photo Matching (0039, 0042, 0045), who conclusively matched the glove to the 2017 MLB debut and the 2018 MLB All-Star Game. There is also a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
