Lot #2983: 1996 Andruw Jones Debut Season Game Used & Signed Atlanta Braves #25 Home Jersey (JSA)

Description

Andruw Jones made his MLB debut with the Atlanta Braves in August of 1996 at 19 years of age when he first put on a Braves uniform. Jones would appear with the Braves during the 1996 World Series against the New York Yankees. Jones would become the youngest player in MLB history to hit a home run in the postseason and just the second player to ever homer in his first two World Series at-bats. Presented here is a 1996 Atlanta Braves #25 jersey game used and signed by Andruw Jones. The seven-button white jersey features navy and red trim on the front placket and sleeves. “BRAVES” is displayed in cursive red-on-navy tackle twill with a gold, red, and navy tomahawk paraph. A Wilson manufacturer’s tag with size “44” and “TAPERED” flags appears on the jersey’s left front tail. A white swatch labeled “96” appears on the jersey’s left front tail. “A. JONES” appears in navy tackle twill on a matching white nameplate that was zigzag stitched, typical of the 1996 Braves. The number “25” in red-on-navy tackle twill appears on the back of the jersey. Jones signed the number “2” on the back of the jersey with a black marker. The signature is bold, and the jersey displays light evidence and contains minor sweat staining of the linen lining and small black stains on the front placket and left front tail. The game used Atlanta Braves jersey worn by Andruw Jones during the 1996 season and signed by the famed slugger comes with an LOA from noted game used jersey expert William Henderson (21-0617J02) for the game use and a LOA from JSA for the signature.
