Lot #939: Michael Jackson Signed The Jacksons "Triumph" Album & Signed Album Sleeve (Beckett)

Description

The Jacksons released their 15th studio album, Triumph, on September 26th, 1980, and by December 10th it had gone Platinum. Part of the reason for this was the outsized presence of Michael Jackson on the record, which came directly after the release of his legendary record Off The Wall. Michael was the primary vocalist and writer on Triumph, which represents one of the Jackson family’s greatest efforts.

Offered here is a signed copy of Triumph, signed by Michael on the album cover in black marker. The cover shows the five Jackson brothers huddled together, a blue aura emanating from the siblings. The back cover of this album shows a magical peacock and a quote from Michael – “We, like the peacock, try to integrate all races into one, through the love and power of music”. Jackson signed the album in black marker, inscribing “Thanks” above his signature. His signature shows some wear, but still presents very well. The Triumph record is included with this signed album. Also included in this lot is the album sleeve for Triumph, also signed by Michael. Jackson has signed this album sleeve in bold black marker, inscribing “Thanks” and “1986” in addition to his very large signature. Each signed item in this lot comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (Album: A74382, Sleeve: A74381).
