Lot #913: 1993 Marilyn Manson Handwritten Band Formation Rough Partnership Outline Between Brian Warner & Scott Putesky (JSA)

Description

Offered here is what could be considered one of the founding documents of the legendary metal band Marilyn Manson. This “rough partnership outline” details the economic nitty-gritty of the band and the earning potentials for the band members. The two primary subjects of this document are Brian Warner, a.k.a. Marilyn Manson, and Scott Putesky, a.k.a. Daisy Berkowitz. Warner and Putesky, referred to in this document as “BW” and “SP”, are both given a 35% stake in the band compared to the 10% given to the three other band members. Additionally, a proviso in this document states that “B.W. or S.P. may not voluntarily drop-out” of the band, however this line has been crossed out with a question mark written above it.

This document is dated to March 2nd, 1993. Although Marilyn Manson formed in 1989, they did not release their debut studio album, Portrait of an American Family, until 1994. The back side of this document details their earlier years, and was written a week after the front side, on March 8th. The text on the front of this document has been written in blue pen, while the text on the back has been written in black pen. This item is in great condition and is a tremendous relic from the early days of one of America’s most influential, and controversial, bands. This document comes with a LOA from Putesky’s father as well as a LOA from JSA (Z84021).
