Lot #916: Daisy Berkowitz Owned & Used King Tenor Saxophone Used in Marilyn Manson "Get Your Gunn" Video (Family LOA)

Description

Guitarist Scott Putesky, known by his stage name “Daisy Berkowitz”, was an original member of the industrial metal band Marilyn Manson. Berkowitz both played guitar and composed much of the music on Marilyn Manson’s debut studio album Portrait of an American Family. Berkowitz, along with fellow bandmember Gidget Gein, composed the music for the album’s wildly successful lead single “Get Your Gunn”, a searing takedown of what the band viewed as hypocrisy surrounding the murder of OB-GYN doctor David Gunn. “Get Your Gunn” became even more controversial in later years, as members of far-right attempted to blame Marilyn Manson and “Get Your Gunn” for the tragic Columbine High School massacre.

Offered here is the King Tenor saxophone used by Berkowitz during the music video for “Get Your Gunn”, which is regarded as one of the band’s seminal music videos. The saxophone is a burnished silver color. A bouquet of pink faux-flowers is wrapped around the detachable tube of this saxophone. The King Saxophone logo is etched on the outer saxophone along with an intricate flower design. This saxophone comes with a Kluge strap and a hard black carrying case. The saxophone is accompanied by a LOA from Berkowitz’s father.
