Lot #201: 2013 Alex Rodriguez Game Used & Signed New York Yankees Batting Helmet Used For Record Breaking Grand Slam #24 (MLB Authenticated, Steiner & Rodriguez LOA)

Description

Alex Rodriguez made history on September 20th, 2013 when he blasted his 24th career grand slam of San Francisco Giants pitcher George Kontos in the bottom of the seventh inning at Yankee Stadium. Rodriguez came into the game already tied with Lou Gehrig for the all-time lead in grand slams at 23 and his seventh inning blast right-center field put him in a class by himself. The home run, which broke a 1-1 tie and gave the Yankees the 5-1 victory, was also Rodriguez’s 654th career home run.

Rodriguez wore this navy Yankees batting helmet when he hit his milestone 24th career grand slam and 654th career home run. This size 7 3/8 helmet shows moderate game use with a few scuffs and some abrasions. The famous intertwined "NY" logo is on the front in raised letters and AROD's number "13" sticker is affixed on the top of the brim and on the back of the helmet. A Steiner Sports hologram (200663) and MLB Authenticated hologram (EK800916) are affixed to the back of the helmet above the MLB logo sticker. The inside shows light use with all the padding present and complete. Rawlings label is affixed as is the MLB tag. Rodriguez signed his name in silver marker and inscribed “#13 game used 9/20/13 for record breaking career grand slam #24”. This helmet comes with the aforementioned MLB Authenticated and Steiner Sports holograms, along with a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez.
