Lot #21: 2018 Mike Trout Game Used & Signed Old Hickory MT27* Model Bat Photo Matched To 2 Games (Anderson LOA & Sports Investors Authentication)

Description

Not since Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio or Mickey Mantle has a player arrived in the majors and made as big an impression as Mike Trout. From his rookie season in 2012, Trout proceeded to win the Rookie of the Year honors, win a pair of MVP Awards (narrowly missing four more), led the league in on-base percentage for four straight seasons, plus stolen bases and RBIs once a piece. In 2018 he would hit .312 while leading the AL in walks, on-base percentage and on-base + slugging. Once again, he’d finish runner up in the MVP voting as he closed the books on another season in his seemingly Hall of Fame-bound career.

Used during that 2018 season, this Old Hickory MT27* model bat was used by the Angels star during two games against the Texas Rangers on September 3rd and 4th. Coming into the first game, Trout was batting .307. After Jeffrey Springs struck Trout out swinging in the first inning, he singled to centerfield in the 4th. At this point the Rangers weren’t going to press their luck and they walked Trout the final two times he came to the plate. The next day Trout was using the same bat to face the Rangers, and although he failed to get a hit, he did take one for the team when he reached base after getting hit by a Mike Minor pitch in the first, then swiped second as part of a dramatic double steal that set the Angels up to score their first run of the game. This bat has been definitely matched to photos taken of Trout batting during the September 3rd and 4th games, giving it rock solid proof of it being a true Mike Trout gamer. To top off this terrific bat, Trout has signed the barrel, leaving nothing more that a collector could ask for in a bat used by the greatest player in the game today. The bat comes with a LOA from Anderson Authentics (3662) for the game use and signature and a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (190514C7) for the photo match.
