Winter 2020 Catalog Auction Ending Feb 22

Lot #121: Eddie Vedder, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend & Joan Jett Multi-Signed S2 Standard Electric Guitar (Beckett)

Description

Paul Reed Smith is considered to be one of the pre-eminent master guitar makers in the world. He launched PRS Guitars in 1985, and his company is noted as one of the top makers of high-quality guitars in the United States. He began spreading the word of his guitars backstage at concerts, with one of the earliest champions of PRS Guitars, Carlos Santana, becoming a high-profile spokesman.

It didn't take long for the list of notable PRS endorsers to begin piling up. Since the 1990s, PRS has consistently been one of the most recognizable brands among professional guitarists worldwide. Many longtime Fender and Gibson lovers made the switch as time progressed and the company's reputation solidified. After Carlos Santana, who has remained loyal to PRS since the early days, the PRS Guitar brand is used by Joe Walsh, Dave Navarro, Dave Matthews, Bob Weir, Axl Rose, Al Di Meola, Jewel, Jimmy Buffett, John Fogerty, John Mayer, John McLaughlin, Melissa Etheridge, Vince Neil, Trent Reznor and Ricky Scaggs, among others.

Offered is a multi-signed PRS Guitars electric and acoustic “standard” model with the signatures of four Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, including Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey from “The Who,” Eddie Vedder and Joan Jett. Townshend has signed his name in blue marker to the left of the pick guard, while Vedder and Daltrey. Jett has inscribed “Rock Hard! Love Joan Jett” in black marker. The ivory body of the PRS Guitar has a black plastic pick guard, and a brown wood fingerboard. This guitar comes with a black ballistic vinyl case which has the embroidered “Paul Reed Smith” signature in white on the front pocket. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signatures.
