Lot #267: 1994 Michael Jordan Game Used Louisville Slugger S329 Robin Ventura Model Bat (PSA/DNA GU 8)

Description

Michael Jordan sent shock waves through the sporting world in 1993 when he announced he was tired of basketball and was retiring. Jordan had had a rough year after his father was murdered and decided to pursue professional baseball which was his father’s original dream for his son. Jordan signed with the Chicago White Sox in early 1994 and this Louisville Slugger dates to the 1994 season with the club.

After spring training, Jordan was assigned to the Double-A Birmingham Barons where he hit .202 for the year for manager Terry Francona. However, things began to look up when he showed vast improvement in the Arizona Fall League. This Louisville Slugger S329 model bat is a Robin Ventura model used by Jordan. This bat displays moderate game use and is un-cracked. The knob has “45” and “M Jordan” handwritten in silver marker. “45” was the number Jordan wore while playing baseball and then wore with the Chicago Bulls when he made his initial comeback in the spring of 1995. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19213) for the game use by Jordan and has been graded a solid GU 8.
