Mookie Betts had another solid season in 2019, his last with the Boston Red Sox. Coming off his 2018 American League MVP, Betts followed that season up with 29 home runs and 80 RBI in 2019 as he batted a solid .290. During the July 18th game at Fenway Park, Betts connected of Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Derek Law in the seventh inning for his 14th home run of the season in Boston’s 5-0 win. Two days later, Betts smacked a two-run shot off Baltimore Orioles pitcher Tom Eschelman in the fourth inning of the Red Sox’s 17-6 rout of the O’s. It was Betts’ 15th home run of the season. Finally, on July 26th, Betts exploded for three home runs against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. Betts homered in his first three at-bats against James Paxton, hitting solo shots in the first and third innings and a two-run blast in the fourth as the Red Sox crushed the Yankees 10-5. Betts’ three home runs got his season total up to 18 and he finished the game with five RBI.

As one would expect from the hitting caliber of Mookie Betts, this bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and blue ink transfers present on the barrel. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barre and the handle has a red Lizard Skins tape to enhance the grip. There is a mark on the handle that identifies the grain, which has been mandatory per Major League Baseball for all maple bats manufactured after 2009. The knob has an axe handle.
