Late Summer Auction SESSION 2 CLOSING SEPT 21 10PM EASTERN FOR INITIAL BIDS

Lot #9: 2004-05 SP Authentic "Triple Signatures" #SP3-BJH Kobe Bryant/LeBron James/Dwight Howard Multi-Signed Card (#05/15) – BGS PRISTINE 10/Black Label 10/Auto 10

Description

Encapsulated and graded PRISTINE 10/Black Label 10 by BGS, with signature graded "10" by Beckett. Hall of Famer. Portrait likenesses of three popular superstars, along with each man's bold, blue ink signature, highlight the dramatic motif of this glamorous, super-premium trading card.

The emotional, visceral significance of this collectible's content simply cannot be over-emphasized. With the dual presence of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James on the same card, perhaps two of the greatest players in the history of the game can be viewed together on a single surface. The piece is a second-year James appearance, standing as an early commemorative of an athlete who – if he were to win a title with the Lakers – would propel this memento toward a position to vault into "perfect storm" status as a memento of L.A. champions. Already, it's an item carrying historical impact that will transcend the generations as esteem for its subjects continues to grow.

This is the first and only SP Signature card, from any year, to claim the meritorious Black Label status. The item's exclusivity of production, limited to an edition of just fifteen copies, defines greater rarity than can be boasted by the LeBron card that recently sold for nearly $2 Million. There are impossible odds against any other autographed Black Label Kobe and/or LeBron card surfacing, making this the superstars' highest-grade, dual-signed card from the current, fertile era of meaningful collectibles. Finally, the Black Label designation allows its value to far surpass that of a "mere" BGS PRISTINE 10 copy, and dwarf the expectations for a still very rare BGS GEM MINT 9.5 specimen.

And, yet another enticing circumstance applies in the case of this superb card, particularly so in terms of its subject composition and the timing of its presentation at auction. As the collectible is being offered (during the decisive stages of the 2020 NBA basketball season), the Lakers are dominating, and appear to be able and determined to capture the championship. That would qualify all three players as ring-wearing NBA Champions. Further, and amazingly, all three players, pictured here as a trio, started off on different teams, but will have come together to be title-holders with the same franchise!

The card's BGS condition report: Centering 10, Corners 10, Edges 10, Surface 10; its run of perfect scores qualifies the item for prestigious "Black Label" recognition. A congratulatory statement on the card's back highlights Upper Deck's warranty for the authenticity of the signatures, and serves as the item's COA. The limited-edition piece is serial-numbered "05/15." A demonstrably faultless, glittering showpiece, in Black Label Pristine condition.
