Lot #15: Incredible 2011 NBA All Star Game Staples Center Game Used 25'x9' Floor Section - Kobe Bryant 37 Pts and MVP on Home Court

Description

Offered here is a piece of NBA history. This offered 25 x 9-foot section of wood floor was the one used during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game and festivities held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles – the home of the Lakers and Clippers. The late Kobe Bryant was the MVP of the All-Star Game as he helped lead the West All-Stars to a 148-143 victory over the East All-Stars. This floor section has “ALL-STAR LOS ANGELES 2011” logo printed in red, white and blue and parts of the 3-point arc on the left and right. This floor was found in a storage barn in Maine having been purchased by the owner directly from NBA and then stored right after the All-Star Game in 2011, until 2019 when the floor was sent to our consignor’s shop in Ohio.

There are 12 full 4 x 8-foot sheets and 1 partial 5 ½-inch sheet. The full layout as pictured is 30 feet long x 12 feet tall x 2 ¾ inches thick overall with underlayment and "sleepers". The actual Maple Tongue and Groove Floor is 1-inch thick. The original metal panel connecting hardware is still on the panels. Adding to this special lot is one sheet (the "TAR" sheet) that was painted by Dwayne Wade in 2014 for "In the Paint" series. The full panels that are included and identified as G7, G8, G9, H7, H8, H9-(Wade Panel), H10, I6-(includes partial 3 point line), I7, I8, I9, I10-(includes partial 3 point line) and a partial panel of G-6.

The floor is in solid condition with some wear. There are scratches and wear blemishes throughout. The floor is in as-is condition and will need cleaned if so desired. The floor could be hung on a wall since there has been some panel warpage over the years and could also be restored to a playable floor by tearing off the backing and applying new one. The winning bidder of this lot can make arrangements with the consignor if he/she so chooses on best methods for using or storing the floor and will do actual restoration and/or installation for an additional cost.

Please note that due to the size and weight of this item, shipping costs will be higher.
