Description

The Philadelphia Athletics won their first World Championship in franchise history in 1910, which started a five-season run of excellence culminating in three World Series titles and four American League pennants. Presented here is a World Series Championship trophy that was presented to Reuben “Rube” Oldring. Oldring patrolled left and center field for Connie Mack’s A’s in 1910, appearing in 134 games and batting a lofty .308 with 4 home runs and 57 RBI for the 102-48 ballclub. Only a fluke injury kept him from playing in the 1910 World Series, but Rube was a key contributor to the 1911 and 1913 World Champion A's.
