Lot #16: 1995 Cal Ripken Jr. Game Worn, Signed, Inscribed & Photo Matched Baltimore Orioles Warm-Up Jersey for Consecutive Game #2130 (Ripken LOA & Sports Investors Authentication)

Description

Before Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. could break Lou Gehrig’s historic consecutive games played streak, he would have to tie him. That’s exactly what Ripken did when he suited up for the 2,130th consecutive time on September 5th, 1995 against the California Angels. This is the very jersey worn by Cal pre-game when he tied Lou Gehrig’s historic consecutive games streak on September 5th, 1995. This jersey has been photo matched by Sports Investors Authentication to an undated image from the 1995 season.

This offered warm-up is an all-black Majestic size 48 pullover mesh jersey with a two-button top has “Orioles” and a paraph sewn across the chest in orange, black and white tackle twill. The Majestic tag and size 48 flag are sewn on the front left tail and Ripken’s number “8” is sewn on the back in orange, black and white tackle twill. There is a yellow identification tag clipped to the inside collar that reads “005.001.014 2130 jersey bag19”. This jersey displays moderate use and Cal has recently signed and inscribed this jersey in silver marker below the paraph on the front, inscribing "9-5-95" and "#2130". This come directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. and a signed LOA from Cal will accompany this historic jersey. There is also a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication, who have provided a photo match of this jersey to an undated image in 1995.
