This is the very hat worn by Cal when he tied Lou Gehrig’s historic consecutive games streak on September 5th, 1995. This all-black cap was made by New Era and is a size 7 3/8. This wool cap has a six-panel crown and black brim with the Orioles bird logo embroidered on the front in orange, black and white. The gray underside brim has Ripken’s number “8” handwritten in black marker. The back of the cap has the MLB logo embroidered in Orioles’ colors. The AUTHENTIC DIAMOND COLLECTION, NEW ERA and size tags are sewn on the white inner sweat band. The size tag on the inside has a yellow sticker clipped that reads “005.001.001 2130 Cap bag1 cap”. Ripken has recently signed and inscribed this cap on the top of the brim in silver marker. Ripken inscribed "2130" and "9-5-95".
