The Cubs’ wordmark patch is sewn on the upper left chest in red, white and blue tackle twill and the sleeve ends are trimmed in one-inch royal blue trim. The Russell Athletic size 44 tag, along with “2” Extra Length” and “100% POLYESTER” flags, are sewn on the front left tail. The back of the jersey has “SANDBERG” and “23” sewn on directly to the jersey in blue and red tackle twill. The team index tag is sewn on the inside back collar on a white patch that reads “23-44-1” indicating the player, size and set number and a secondary Cubs logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. This jersey displays heavy game use with heavy laundering, including the blue sleeve ends trim that have been bleached making them more of a purple color. There are several light stains throughout and the tackle twill numbers and letters display puckering. This jersey is original with no alterations and Sandberg as signed this jersey with a large signature in black marker below his number on the back.
