Hall of Famer and baseball Iron Man Cal Ripken, Jr.’s career accolades are legendary. Aside from his historic consecutive games played streak of 2,632, Ripken also had 3,184 career hits and 431 home runs. Ripken was also the American League Rookie of the Year in 1982 and a two-time AL MVP (1983 and 1991). Ripken led his hometown Orioles to their last World Series title in 1983. Another feat achieved by Ripken was him hitting for the cycle during the May 6th, 1984 game against the Texas Rangers.
