Lot #3468: 2002-03 Los Angeles Lakers Team Signed Spalding Basketball (Beckett)

Description

Presented here is a Spalding basketball signed by 13 members of the 2002-03 Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers entered the 2002-2003 season as three-time defending champions, defeating the New Jersey Nets in four straight games in the 2002 NBA Finals. Bryant would play all 82 games for the first time in his career, and the Lakers would finish the season strong, winning their last 11 games to finish fifth in the Western Conference with a record of 50-32. The Lakers' quest to win four consecutive titles was hindered by the San Antonio Spurs, who defeated the Lakers in the Conference semifinals. This presented Official David J. Stern Spalding NBA All-Court basketball is signed in black marker by 13 members of the 2002-03 team. "SPALDING" is imprinted in black on two panels of the brown leather ball. "OFFICIAL ALL-COURT BALL" and "NBA" appear above the facsimile signature of former NBA Commissioner David J. Stern on one of the panels. The opposite panel is labeled "OFFICIAL ALL-COURT BALL" and "NBA" imprinted in black. Key signatures on this ball include those of Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant. Other signatures on the ball include those from Jannero Pargo, Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, Samaki Walker, Tracy Murray, Brian Shaw, Slava Medvedenko, and Devean George. The signatures are faded, and the ball is in great condition. The item comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
