In Jefferson Burdick's definitive work, The American Card Catalog, the desirable N184 issue is correctly described as containing fifty subjects -- but only 25 entries (exactly half of the set) are known to exist with a distinctive Kimball advertisement occupying their top margins. The offered partial set contains all 25 of the "With Ad" varieties confirmed in the issue. This is a point of significant rarity, and an important aspect of detail that holds tremendous interest for specialty collectors. The difficulty of obtaining the "With Ad" depictions in this complete, full-array configuration is impossible to overstate.
Each card has been graded by SGC. In order to remain competitive with Goodwin's and Allen & Ginter's popular Champions series (N162 and N28, respectively), Kimball introduced their own series of "Champions of Games and Sports," which showcased fifty stars of various athletic fields of its competition. The illustrations display a wonderful level of elegance and refinement for an issue that goes sadly overlooked by many hobbyists. Includes: Graded
