Presented here is a pair of tickets to the 1900 and 1912 Republican National Conventions. The first ticket is for the third day of the 1900 RNC in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. William McKinley was unanimously nominated for reelection as the Republican candidate, with Theodore Roosevelt receiving 925 of a possible 926 votes for his selection as McKinley’s vice president, replacing the deceased Garret Hobart. The only delegate who abstained from the vote was Roosevelt himself, preventing his unanimous approval. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20942366).
The second ticket in this lot is from the 1912 RNC in Chicago. William Howard Taft was the nominee, with James S. Sherman named as his vice president. However, Sherman passed away shortly before the election and was replaced with Nicholas M. Butler. This ticket stub is for the fifth day of the convention, and it has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20942364).
