Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by SGC. Hall of Famer. A highly esteemed subject from the fascinating and mysterious T5 premium issue is presented. From the Philadelphia Athletics inaugural season in 1901, and lasting until the end of the 1950 campaign, the team knew no other manager than Connie Mack. A brilliant tactician, expert judge of talent, and a baseball visionary, Mack led the A's to five World Series titles during his tenure as their skipper, and engineered one of baseball's all-time great dynasties. The manager's well-focused photograph and the obverse of its embossed cardboard mount are nicely preserved on the offered example. Remnants of scrapbook adhesive are apparent on the mount's unprinted reverse side.
