The Philadelphia Athletics won their second World Series title in franchise history in 1911, defeating the New York Giants in a tense six-game series. The clinching Game 6, a 13-2 Athletics victory, was the only game of the series decided by more than two runs. Offered here is a ticket to Game 6, a Thursday afternoon tilt at Shibe Park. Chief Bender pitched the A’s to victory, throwing a complete game and allowing only two unearned runs while striking out five Giants batters. Danny Murphy had a 4-4 day for the A’s, scoring three runs, while Harry Davis and Jack Barry chipped in two RBI apiece for Connie Mack’s men. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (26137627).
