Presented here is a ticket stub to the opening game of the 1914 World Series between the Boston Braves and the Philadelphia Athletics at Shibe Park. The Braves jumped on A’s starter Chief Bender, scoring six runs off the future Hall of Famer in their eventual 7-1 win. Rabbit Maranville and Possum Whitted each collected a pair of RBI for the Braves, who rode a complete game, five-hit performance from Dick Rudolph to victory. The Braves swept the Athletics in the Fall Classic, winning the next three games 1-0, 5-4, and 3-1 to secure the first World Series title of the 20th century for Senior Circuit club. This ticket stub has been reattached, and it is encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21848861).
