The 1917 World Series saw the Chicago White Sox, led by the future “Black Sox” including Joe Jackson, beat the New York Giants in six games. The series was tied at two games apiece, only to see the White Sox win the final two games to take the World Series in six games. This offered ticket stub is from the clinching Game 6 at the Polo Grounds in New York on October 15th. The White Sox closed out the series with a 4-2 victory, thanks to Red Faber, who pitched a complete game to seal the victory and the series. This ticket has off-white borders and a patterned blue background. The section is “J”, the row is “G” and the seat is “1”. The face value of the ticket is $3.00, which is equivalent to roughly $60.00 today. Also printed on the ticket is “WORLDS CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES 1917 NATIONAL LEAGUE OF NEW YOR VS AMERICAN LEAGUE OF CHICAGO” and “GAME 3”. This ticket stub is in fair condition with edge and corner wear and toning present. This ticket has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (23398709) and has been graded AUTHENTIC.
