The 1919 T213 Type Coupon issue is on of the rarest of all the tobacco issues, and is the last period tobacco set ever issued. This group of two SGC graded cards packs a powerful punch in multiple ways. First, the players involved are two of the more popular players from the early days, Eddie Collins and Hal Chase, Throwing pose. Second, the condition of both cards are pretty remarkable for this issue, the Collins grading SGC 40 VG 3 and Hal Chase, Throwing grading at SGC 50 VG/EX 4. Third, and most significantly, each has the "Factory No. 8" overprint on the reverse! We know of one other Collins with the factory No. 8 overprint, but this is the first documented Chase, Throwing with the overprint. The standard T219 (Type 3)Coupon's were distributed within the Louisiana Region with a “FACTORY No.3 DIST OF LA.” distribution print. In some rare instances, this typography was “blacked out” by a bold black overprint box, with a revised "FACTORY No.8 DIST OF LA.” label printed directly above. These “overprint” scarce subjects are virtually non-existent, and advanced tobacco collectors actively seeking these rarities. This is a tremendous opportunity to obtain two of these rare specimens in one lot! Both cards present much better than their assigned grade with bold colors, crisp images and clean surfaces front and back. This lot is displays strong subjects, quality appearances and extreme rarity, our version of baseball's Triple Crown!
