The 1920 World Series featured the Cleveland Indians and Brooklyn Dodgers, who were often referred to as the “Robins” for their manager Wilbert Robinson. The Indians won the series five games to two and was notable for the first ever grand slam, the first ever home run by a pitcher in World Series history and an unassisted triple play. This offered 5 x 7-inch photograph shows the two managers Tris Speaker (right) and Wilbert Robertson (left) at the 1920 World Series shaking hands and based on the uniforms, the picture was taken at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. This photograph has been signed by the Hall of Famer Speaker in black pen on the white border below the image and inscribed “1920”. On the back of this photo “Speaker v “Robby”” is handwritten in pencil, along with two pull marks from what looks like tape that was removed. A wonderful early 20th century artifact signed by baseball’s all-time greats. This item has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (83883155) and has been graded AUTHENTIC.
