Hall of Famer. "J. Franklin Baker" endorsed this official New York Yankees payroll check from the 1922 team (dated July 15th of that year) to claim his salary in the amount of $1,149.72. The instrument has been signed on the front, in fountain pen ink, by Yankees owner and Hall of Famer Jacob Ruppert. Baker has endorsed the check with his formal, black fountain pen signature (conceding interference from bank punchings) on the reverse. The check displays routine bank cancellation punchmarks and stampings. Baker, a 1955 Cooperstown enshrinee, passed away in 1963. This check has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
