As a manager, Chuck Dressen compiled a 1,008-973 record with the Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Dodgers, Washington Senators, Milwaukee Braves and Detroit Tigers from 1934-1966. Dressen spent eight seasons in the Majors with the majority of his time coming with the Reds from 1925-1931 and then one season with the New York Giants in 1933. Offered here is a home Cincinnati Reds flannel button-down pinstriped jersey worn by Dressen during the 1928 seasons. This jersey was manufactured by Spalding and has the Reds’ wishbone “C” “REDS” logo sewn on the upper left chest in red and black felt. There is loose stitching and some of the red felt has eroded due to age. There are remnants of red piping around the collar and down both sides of the buttons. The Spalding tag, which is worn, is sewn on the inside back collar. The bottom of the jersey has been trimmed and the lower right back tail has stitched letters that have been removed, showing an “a” and other illegible letters and “3” and “28”. This jersey shows heavy wear with team repairs and toning. The piping around the collar and buttons is worn and faded and the collar area has soil stains. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (200405A5) for the game use.
