The 1931 New York Yankees team, with its abundance of Hall of Famers and a 94-59 record, finished in a distant second place to Connie Mack's Athletics' team that completed the season with a total of 107 victories. Lou Gehrig led the American League with 46 homers and whopping 184 RBI, while batting an impressive .341. Teammate Babe Ruth hit a monstrous .373 and tied Gehrig for the league lead in homers while knocking in 163 runs.

This attractive and off-white Spalding "Babe Ruth Home Series" unofficial ball has been signed in blue fountain pen by 19 members of the 1931 New York Yankees. Babe Ruth’s signature is prominently signed across the sweet spot. Ruth’s signature is light but still readable with only a small stain on the left portion of the “B” and very small mark on the top of the “t”. The east panel with the Spalding stamp has the Hall of Fame signatures of Lou Gehrig and Bill Dickey. The west panel with the faded Reach stamp has the signatures of Art Fletcher, Gordon Rhodes (signed Dusty Rhodes), Ivy Andrews (signed Paul Andrews), Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri and Ed Wells.

The north panel has the signatures of Hall of Famer Earle Coombs, Hall of Famer Red Ruffing (signed Chas. Ruffing), Hank Johnson, Cy Perkins and the clubhouse signatures of Joe McCarthy and Sam Byrd. The south panel has the signatures of Lyn Lary, Jimmie Reese, Myril Hoag, Hall of Famer Joe Sewell and George Pipgras (signed Geo W. Pipgras). This baseball has orange and blue stitching, some minor toning and some staining. The signatures are light but still presentable. This multi-signed baseball comes with a LOA from JSA (X91780).
