Featured is a letter addressed to former baseball player Monte Weaver, by then manager of the Washington Senators Clark Griffith. Monte Weaver was a pitcher for the Washington Senators (1931 – 38) and the Boston Red Sox (1939). In 1933, Weaver along with the Senators, played in the World Series, ultimately losing to the New York Giants. This letter was a contract offer for Weaver to re-sign with the Senators. In the letter, it was stated that Weaver had asked for a higher pay however, Griffith refused stating he was fortunate to even be in that position. The bottom of the letter is signed by Griffith himself in bold black ink. This letter is both matted and framed to the dimensions of 16 ½ x 19 inches.
