The first line of this card's biography deftly summarizes the subject legend's greatness: "Home run king of the big leagues." As tribute to his sovereignty, Ruth's likeness was featured on four different 1933 Goudey cards, the most of any player. A blazing red background highlights the bold likeness of "The Babe" on this appealing treasure. The offered card, #149 in Goudey's classic 1933 release, carries only the faintest evidence of respectful handling on its surface and corners. The card's back is clean and brightly printed. Excellent to Mint condition, with exceptional star power and undeniable optic impact.
