This vintage “Duo Center” Rawlings Official League Baseball with red and black stitching has the date ‘1933’ written on the side panel. This seems to at some point place the ball in the year the New York Yankees won 91 games and finished second in the American League. Though they didn’t capture the pennant that year, the Yankees were still a major force with its star-studded roster.
There are thirteen (13) signatures in all on the baseball, each apparently signed using a black, felt-tip fountain pen. Included are Yankee Hall of Fame immortals Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig along with fellow Hall of Famer Bill Dickey. Other signatures also include Yankees Danny MacFayden, Dixie Walker, Ben Chapman, Charlie Devens, George Uhle, Samuel Byrd, Frank Crosetti, and Lyn Lary.
