Offered here is a 11 x 14-inch lobby scene card from the iconic comedy trio “The Three Stooges”. This lobby scene card is from the 1933 short subject “Dancing Lady” starring Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Ted Healy and the Three Stooges, and the film debut of Fred Astaire. Joan Crawford played Janie Barlow, a woman who loves to dance and eventually takes a job as a stripper at a burlesque house. Rich playboy Tod Newton, played by Franchot Tone, discovers the young ingenue and assists her in getting a job in a real Broadway musical directed by Patch Gallagher, played by Clark Gable. Steve the stage manager, hires Ted Healy and his Three Stooges as stagehands for comedic relief. A series of miscommunications ensue which make Tod think he can get what he wants from Janie, Patch thinking Janie will use her charms instead of talent to make it to the top, and Janie falling for Patch. Tod withdraws funding from the show when he thinks he has lost Janie’s affections, she joins him but finds out she was deceived and leaves him for Patch when he puts on a musical with his own money. The musical romantic comedy earned $2.4 million dollars at the box office and featured the hit song “Everything I Have Is Yours’ by Burton Lane and Harold Adamson.

This offered card features the stooges in front of a puzzle in with Moe playing a cymbal, Larry playing the piano, and Curly playing spoons while Ted Healy gives them the thumb to “take a hike” while Joan Crawford at his side. The scene card features “JOAN CRAWFORD CLARK GABLE IN DANCING LADY” on the bottom left corner of the card. “A METRO GOLDWYN MEYER PICTURE” appears with musical notes on the left side of the scene card. The scene card is in great condition and the image on the card perfectly encapsulates the essence of the film and the humor of the Three Stooges. There is a crease on the bottom right corner and the card displays toning.
