This ball collects six of the most important figures in baseball in 1934: Gas House Gang member Dizzy Dean and his manager Frankie Frisch, Tigers stars Hank Greenberg, Schoolboy Rowe and manager Mickey Cochrane - and the greatest name in the game - Babe Ruth. Most likely this ball originates from the 1934 World Series where the Cardinals and Tigers battled it out in one of baseball's most memorable World Series. Dean won two games for St. Louis and Frisch was the team's manager and Frisch was the manager and second baseman while Greenberg was the Tigers' star first baseman, Rowe won Game 2 and Cochrane was Detroit's catcher and skipper. Ruth's presence is most likely due to his second job as a special newspaper correspondent during the World Series. Each legend has signed the ball in strong black fountain pen, Cochrane signing the west spot and the others taking opposite panels. The ball shows toning from age and has a light coat of shellack. Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
