Each card has been graded by PSA. Offered is a 22-card near set (missing #'s 17 and 24 for completion) of R144 Wolverine Gum "Strange True Stories" non-sports cards issued in 1936. Advanced collectors are well-accustomed to attending large card shows and buying singles for their set-building projects. Routinely, they'll wind up purchasing dozens of cards, but those quickly fade in significance if the collector has found even one "Strange True Stories" in making the rounds. Most of the great subjects in the Wolverine Gum issue are here, including such jewels as "Drowned by a Giant Clam," and "Death in the Sahara." Their legendary scarcity makes us glad that the company never fulfilled the initial promise of "260 super-exciting Strange True Stories," as advertised on the cardbacks.
