Offered is a 25-inch blue felt pennant with attached four-inch tassels, featuring the names of the New York Yankee greats which trumped the cross-town Giants in the five-game World Series. All the greats are listed including DiMaggio, Gehrig, Dickey, Lazzeri and Gomez among the 15 names, with “NEW YORK YANKEES AMERICNA LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” sandwiching a flying pennant. Interesting how DiMaggio received top billing over the more established Gehrig, but the Clipper did dominate the American League in his second season, banging out 46 HRs – 167 RBI – while hitting .346. Reports from that season say DiMaggio would have broken Babe Ruth’s record if not for playing in Yankee Stadium’s Death Valley. Excellent overall condition with light edge wear, intact tassels and no pinholes. Tremendous display item.
