Encapsulated with signature assessed "Authentic" by PSA/DNA (Cert. #83916941). The signature of Lou Gehrig – who was rightfully acclaimed as the ultimate combination of class, humility, physical strength, and athletic prowess – is presented. His neatly scripted, strong penmanship projects very favorably against the 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" item's clean surface. A newspaper image of Gehrig has been taped to the reverse; this vintage addition is accompanied by the ink notations, "Iron man of baseball - One of the greatest first basemen in baseball," and "Secured in 1938." Gehrig, a 1939 Hall of Fame inductee, passed away in 1941.
