Presented here is a Type I photograph of Joe DiMaggio shaking hands with his Yankee teammate Joe Gordon after breaking George Sisler’s modern-day record 41 game hitting streak. “The Yankee Clipper” singled in the top of the sixth inning of the second game of a double header against the Washington Senators on June 29th, 1941 to set his own record, which he would extend to 56 before finally going hitless. This photograph measures 7 ¼ x 9 inches, and features the typical stamping and writing consistent with Type I images. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1P07298), which authenticates it as a Type I photograph.
