The Brooklyn Bushwicks were a team ahead of their time. The semi-pro baseball team, which played its games at Dexter Park In Queens, New York City fielded multi-ethnic rosters during a time of segregation. The Bushwicks were in existence from 1913 – 1951 and played exhibition games against Negro League teams, minor league teams and other semi-pro teams. Many top players came through the Bushwick program, including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Hank Greenberg, Dizzy Dean and Joe Medwick.

This Official League baseball has been signed by 18 members of the 1943 squad in black steel-tip fountain pen.
