This is a very comprehensive offering from a scarce and physically fragile production that is seldom seen in today's hobby. Ten different "Jack Armstrong Tru-Flite Plane Models," plus their associated Instruction Sheets and the group's original mailing envelope, are presented. These detailed paper models of airplanes were available only through mail order from Wheaties cereal's long-standing Jack Armstrong promotion. Providing an informative view of various nations' wartime aircraft, the group of ten different planes offered here was released as the series' first group in 1944. Includes:

"Jack Armstrong Tru-Flite Plane Models" (10 Different) - each unassembled model consists of two thin-cardboard components: a Fuselage Card and a Wing/Rudder/Tailplane Card. The Fuselage Cards measure about 6-1/4" x 10-1/4" (one is slightly larger and was folded on the bottom edge, at the factory, to fit into the mailing envelope); the other cards are approximately 4-1/4" x 10-1/4". Planes included are #'s 1 American P-40 (Flying Tiger), 2 Japanese Zero (Mitsubishi Square Wing), 3 British Supermarine Spitfire V, 4 German Folke-Wulf FW-190, 5 American Grumman "Hellcat" (F6F), 6 Japanese Nakajima 01-MK-1, 7 British Fairey "Fulmar," 8 German Heinkel He. 113, 9 American P-47 "Thunderbolt" and 10 Russian "Yak" I-26;

Instruction Sheets (5 Different) - these 12-1/2" x 10-1/4" paper sheets (all are once-folded, as mailed, to 6-1/4" x 10-1/4") provide directions for assembling the airplane models: one airplane is represented on each Instruction Sheet side;

Mailing Envelope - featuring return address with logo and prominent "...Do Not Fold!" request. About 7" x 11", well-circulated consistent with postal use.

Airplane components are mostly EX/MT or better; Instruction Sheets are clean and barely handled, but areas around the mailing folds have become slightly brittle with age.
